From the catalog to our cards, we at Paper Street strive to use earth-friendly paper, printing, and manufacturing in an effort to promote environmental health. We begin by selecting paper stocks that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The FSC certification system allows paper manufacturers the opportunity to “do the right thing,” by not supporting any illegal, unsustainable or unverified logging activities. The intent of the FSC system is to shift the market to eliminate habitat destruction, water pollution, displacement of indigenous peoples and violence against people and wildlife that often accompanies logging.

We print our products using only soy inks. These vegetable-based inks are considered a safe, healthy and environmentally-friendly alternative to the more traditional petroleum-based inks. In fact, soy ink takes only 0.5% of the energy required to create traditional inks and has low values of VOC (volatile organic compounds) which helps reduce air pollution. And much of this soy yield requires little to no irrigation, thereby saving water.
